Kesem — Child Safety Standards

This page is published by the developer of Kesem, Yosef Haim Davidovitz. It sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in the Kesem app.

CSAE-1 · Zero tolerance

Kesem has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We forbid any content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms, exploits, endangers or trafficks a minor, and any child sexual abuse material. This includes drawn, generated or edited material. Community Guidelines section CG-3 applies. A breach always leads to a permanent ban and a report to the authorities.

CSAE-2 · Kesem is for adults only

CSAE-3 · How to report — in the app

On any profile or chat, choose "Report" → "Minor" ("This person is a minor"). This is a severe report:

CSAE-4 · How to report — outside the app

Anyone, including people without an account, can write to our child safety contact: [email protected]. Please describe what you saw and where (the name shown on the profile, city, and approximate time). Do not send us images of child abuse, and do not share them with anyone. Describe them in words instead.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police at once. In Israel, call 100. For online harm to children, contact the national 105 hotline (phone 105, 24/7). In the United States, contact the NCMEC CyberTipline: https://report.cybertip.org/ or 1-800-843-5678.

CSAE-5 · What we do with CSAM

When we find or are told about suspected CSAM, or about the exploitation of a child:

  1. we hide the content and the account at once, and ban the account permanently;
  2. we preserve the evidence securely: only the owner can access it, every access is logged, and we never share it except with the authorities;
  3. we report it to the Israel Police (the national 105 hotline for children online) and to the NCMEC CyberTipline, and we cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement;
  4. we keep the banned person's identifiers so they cannot register again (face template for 3 years; phone and device identifiers, as hashes, for 5 years).

We follow an internal written procedure for this (the CSAM procedure). {{CSAM_PROCEDURE_PUBLIC_SUMMARY_LINK — owner to decide whether to publish a summary}}

CSAE-6 · Compliance with the law

We comply with the child-safety laws that apply to Kesem, including Israeli law. We report suspected CSAM to the competent authorities as described in CSAE-5.

CSAE-7 · Child safety point of contact

Yosef Haim Davidovitz, developer and operator of Kesem. Email: [email protected] · Post: 131 Lachish Boulevard, Kiryat Gat, Southern District 8204857, Israel. This contact can speak about our CSAM prevention practices and about how we comply with this policy.
